well i commandeered my parents drive for the weekend to sort out these noisy chains.
so the big job started :confused1:

i didnt take many pics as i normal just get stuck in and forget to lol :sorry:

in the drive again!

Image

started at 3pm on Sat and by 7pm it looked like this

Image

engine into the garage and stripped down to get at the chains, guides and tensioners

Image

Image

stripped out all the old chains, guides and tensioners to find that both upper and lower tensioners where very week aand the upper guide rain was snapped as you can see in the pic

Image

then got on with the rebuild

Image

got the last bits and bobs done on monday

Image

started up first turn of the key and sounded so much better :-) not the bag of marbles i had on friday haha

anyways all running good and feels like a new car :v:

lol well.... i just need to pull my finger out and buy a donor. Been looking around but there aint many going for under the 500 mark. And really i want to get one around 4-500 so i can scrap the shell and sell small bits to re-coupsome of the cash.

Going to start buying parts so i am ready.

Reckon i need brake upgrades and the likes. What else have you upgraded on your's bar engine?

Nice to the point thread, I like. Too many folk ramble on and half the time you cba reading everything haha. Tornado red is one of the best mk2 colours IMO. Gutted about the bump but least ya weren't left completely outta pocket. Looks clean under the hood too.
