Mk2 VR6 dyno / RR results

hi all, been down my local rollin road today for a bit of fun and to find out if my mk2 vr is running correct, was happy with the results too. engine has about 120.000 on the clock and came from a passat auto. its coilpack obd1 and standard apart from decat and a open airfilter. the results were........

wheel horse power-180.3
engine horse power-198.8

wheel torque-197.7
engine torque-217.4

losses were 25.7 bhp.

the torque figure seems a little high to me, not that im complaing
any thought anyone?

Looks good mate, torque does seem high, it's not normally higher than the bhp figure

That's about rite mine was 205 torque I think with 182bhp my best a couple of months ago. The guy doing the tests was shocked at mine then even more when I told him what was under the bonnet as I only put down golf gti as my car

cheers fellas, i thought the torque was high too, wonder if it owt to do wit running a slighty smaller 8v exhaust?? oh well cant grumble really

i went with ash(breeza18) and was goin to post up results earlier but got distracted by the pub running the same as ash standard obd1 coilpack apart from decat and open air filter came from a km3 golf with approx 110,000 on the clock and i got,
At Flywheel
196.3bhp 217.1ft-lbs torque
At Wheels
178.5 bhp 197.4 ft-lbs torque
Losses
27.2 bhp
im quite happy with that told ash before we went was expecting around the 180 mark, got to put the 6 branch on and ordering a new air filter as mine is abit sh*t

Good figures again in both power and torque

that is good considering my obd1 2.8 has ported head,cams,6 branch and remap and only made 206hp 205lb/ft

i think the 'dyno lottery' has a lot to play in this. i think the dyno we run on was a bit optimistic . ive heard dyno jet? are the more reliable dynos.

just hoping mine makes over 200 once im done , iit'll have full rebuild , 6 branch/gas flowed-lightly ported head / 268's , C2 software/ good cold air feed with decent filter / maybe flywheel plus 2.9 inlet?

anything over 200.00 at the wheels would make be very happy

Yeah i bet it is i know of a mk2 vr round the corner from me and that things is insane ... !

Think anything above what ive seen his go like would be amazing (but all i get is all TSR talk from him .... they done everything. ) over 200 tiny bit of a dream but who know's the RR will say soon , then if its under that i think why didnt go R32
